Grist to the mill

A few days ago a young 16 year old tried to escape his four attackers by climbing down the outside of a tower block.. they caught up with him and trod on his fingers 'till he fell....

A couple of days later a 16 year old Qatari was beaten to death by four racist, white, attackers..

Hey! why is colour an important part of the second attack yet not mentioned in the first?.... (they were black, he was asian).

The wealthy, educated and ignorant have not appreciated the sea change in the poor... as usual.

This will be seen as yet another contradiction between the facts and the truth.

When I was young I laughed when Trots told me that Fascists could one day take control of this Isle. I still doubt they could, but I have observed a softening toward the concept....

Warsaw in Ruins

A 100 years from now a child of Polish descent will look at a map of Europe and wonder just where Poland used to be.

Global brinkmanship has hit heights not seen since the 80's, well done to the USA and UK and our new puppet regimes.

A Levels.

Mmmm....everyone is A grade.

Therefore everyone is perfect,

It gets worse on the Orwellian front.

Oh well, as long as nobody thinks... who cares..

I feel sorry for the poor clever.

Hardtalk

Without Stephen Sackur I would have given up on the BBC, but the pleasure of watching him act like a genuine journalist reminds me.....

Yet again, I was horrified.

People are ......

Reality is a cruel place. South Ossetia is not Georgia.

Sorry Georgia, we've taken sides, as a pawn you are nothing...

Free Tibet?

I've just watched a couple of very privileged Brits protest with banners in Beijing claiming they wish to see Tibet free.

Free to do what?

Do they really wish to see a nasty theocratic feudalism enforced upon the poor folk of Tibet?

Do they really wish to see people turned into ignorant slaves for a few wealthy aristocrats and monks?

The arrogance of these protesters makes me fume and when they are reincarnated (tee hee) I hope they come back as a chattel, tilling the soil all day hopelessly ignorant of all but submission.

Oh and as for protesting in theocratic Tibet, the punishments for serfs, which included gouging out eyes, cutting off ears, hands and feet, pulling out tendons were rather unpleasant.

Is this what they really want?

Tibeten culture needs to be expunged just as Norman feudalism and American plantation slavery needed to be.

The Power of Prayer

This tickled me.

In a small Texas town, ( Mt. Vernon ) Drummond’s bar began construction on a new building to increase their business. The local Baptist church started a campaign to block the bar from opening with petitions and prayers.

Work progressed right up till the week before opening when lightning struck the bar and it burned to the ground.

The church folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, until the bar owner sued the church on the grounds that the church was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means. The church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building’s demise in its reply to the court.

As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork. At the hearing he commented, “I don’t know how I’m going to decide this, but as it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that does not.

Climate Change

There's a protest against the building of a coal fired power station at Kingsnorth this week

I suppose a few dreary, middle class bores will go to have some fun causing a bit of chaos with a supercilious growl on their faces.

They will tell us the end is nigh and that tomorrow it will be too late as usual.

Although the power plant will be built I believe capitalism will soon join up and agree wholeheartedly with them...

Western Capitalism is desperate for a new bubble to sustain itself.

The transfer to a "green economy" will make alot of people rich with investments, it will keep innumerable monkeys busy and it can all be done with the joy of religious certainty.

Protesters will not realise it, but their rich masters are probably overjoyed that the vanguard of capitalism's next ploy are a bunch of greenies.

Oh well, we'll see... but capitalism does need a new bubble.

Wal-Mart Unions & France

I've just heard that Wal-Mart has advised its workers to vote Republican because the Democrats might give them some rights.

At the same time someone on CNBC was berating some Bill which might bring France to the USA.

Oh well, as someone who enjoys laughing at both cultures I know where I would rather work and eat...mmmm.
