Where's the spunk?

I've just had a chat with a nice couple I know down the pub.

The last time I saw them they told me they would be in India for Christmas.

So I asked them if they were feeling some trepidation now.

Oh no, they've cancelled their visit.

Should I feel contempt or pity?.....

It must be awful to live life in a state of nervous anxiety. (pity)

Still it means a victory for the terrorists. (contempt)
